Companion Care

Help with light housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation, and the daily company that keeps life at home feeling like life.

What companion care covers

Companion care is non-medical support for adults who are mostly independent but who benefit from a reliable presence and a hand with everyday tasks.

  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and changing bed linens
  • Meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking
  • Transportation to appointments, church, and social outings
  • Medication reminders
  • Conversation, games, hobbies, and walks
  • Help with mail, bills, and correspondence
  • Regular check-in calls to family members

Why it matters

Isolation is not a small problem. Research consistently links prolonged social isolation in older adults to higher rates of depression, cognitive decline, and hospitalization. A consistent companion is preventive care as much as practical help.

She doesn't just do the dishes. She sits with Mom and they talk about the garden for an hour. That hour changed my mother's week.

Is it the right fit?

Companion care is usually right when someone is safe on their own but the house is slipping, meals are being skipped, or the phone calls home have started to sound lonely. If physical assistance with bathing or mobility is needed, personal care is the better starting point.
